Reset App Settings

Some time you need to restore default app settings. To do so, open the app and go to the app menu and select « Restore default settings« . Then close and reopen the app.

You can also reset app setting directly from the Terminal. Let say you want to reset app setting for Audio Converter Pro.Open the Terminal and execute the following command line :

rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.geranium-soft.audioconverter/

If you want to reset all Geranium-Software app settings run :

rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.geranium-soft.*/

Use copy/paste to avoid all risk of error !

Convert to WAV 24 bit

You can convert your medias to wav format by using the preset named « Format WAV ». This preset convert the media to WAV 16-bit.

If you need to convert to WAV 24-bit, you need to use the preset « PRO Customized » as bellow :

How to send us crash log

The app crash and you don’t know why ? Send us crash log we will investigate. Reopen the app, you will get the following windows. Click on the button « Report… », then select the crash log, copy and paste the log in a mail : support@geranium-soft.com

You can also use the Finder to get crash log :

  1. Open the Finder
  2. In the Menu GO select Go to folder and paste the text : ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
  3. Select the good one and send us the log by mail

How to export Log

You’re facing an issue during a audio / video conversion ? We can help you to solve it !

We need some log to solve it. You can export log by following the step :

  1. Click on the blue i in the right of the app
  2. Click on the 3rd tabs named Log and click on the button « Export » and save the log file in your Desktop
  3.  Do the  same for 1st and 2d tab (Source and Output)
  4. You will get 3 log files.
  5. Send us the log files in attachment of a mail : support@geranium-soft.com

Import new preset for WAV 16 bit conversion

A user ask me for wav 16 bit conversion. If you have the pro version « Audio Converter Pro » you can convert to wav 16 bit by using the preset named « Customized Pro » (The first one in the list). Click on the preset button « Advanced » and change the Audio Codec to pcm_s16le and extension = wav (You can also change Suffix value and so on …)

If you have the lite version, you don’t have the preset named « Customized Pro ». You need to import the missing preset. This is the aim of this article.

First of all download the customized preset (WAV 16 bit) here

Unzip the file and just drag and drop the .plist file in the preset area like bellow :

Enter the text « wav » (without quote) in the preset filter. You can now see the imported preset « WAV 16 bit ». Click to select it, add your audio file and go for conversion.

Enjoy !

PS: You can modify the Audio Codec to feat your needs (pcm_s24le for 24 bit and so on …)

Crop a video with « Free AVCHD to Mov »

You can crop a video with « Free AVCHD to Mov ».

Just follow this youtube tuto : http://youtu.be/9XyrNGeJwto

1. Add your video to the app « Free AVCHD to Mov »
2. Select a preset and duplicate it
3. Rename the duplicated preset and and the following text in the section Append to command line : -filter:v "crop=640:480:0:0"
4. Click Encode and wait the end of process
5. that’s all !

AVCHD to Mov issue with HDMV Presentation Graphic Stream subtitles

A lot of mts clip include subtitle track with « pgssub » codec (HDMV Presentation Graphic Stream subtitles).

FFMpeg does not support pgssub encoding (only decoding). In this case you will get the following error :


Stream mapping:
Stream #0:0 -> #0:0 (copy)
Stream #0:1 -> #0:1 (copy)
Stream #0:2 -> #0:2 (pgssub -> ?)
Encoder (codec none) not found for output stream #0:2

To fix it, you can use the folowing work around. Note that the output file will not contain any subtitle.

The fix :

Use the preset named « Rewrap Mov » and uncheck the box « All streams » :
rewrap-mov-issue-pgssub

Start the encoding, it will be fine now.

We will propose a real fix in the next release.

Mov to MXF – Import custom preset

The video bellow show you how to simply import a preset in Free Converter in order to be able to convert file from MOV to MXF format.

Download the preset here then download « Free Converter » in the mac app store (like bellow)

PS: It will work the same for my other apps and for other formats (mp3, mkv, …)
